Last year, over 4900 hours of volunteer time was donated back to the community though United Way of Williamson County. While the monetary value placed on their time exceeds $102,000, the impact it has on the agencies and the people served is priceless.
We all have special talents and each of us have something we can do to help one another.
When we reach out a hand to one, we influence the condition of all. Whether it’s reading to children, or leading financial literacy classes for hard-working families, or delivering meals to homebound seniors, there are hundreds of volunteer options available every day. While volunteering can mean picking up a paintbrush, planting trees, or working in a soup kitchen, other types of opportunities do exist. Many nonprofits need professional services — like writing a business plan, doing their books, developing a web site or software training.
So give the gift of you. Volunteer ... it's a great way to LIVE UNITED.
