Georgetown ISD Gives

2018 Georgetown ISD United Way Campaign

For many years, United Way of Williamson County and Georgetown ISD have partnered to improve lives and strengthen our community.

Together, we are fighting for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in every Williamson County community.

Who do we fight for? We fight for the children who come to school hungry because there isn't enough money for food. We fight for those students who have amazing potential but need extra support to help them graduate on time. We fight for the parents who must work multiple jobs to provide for their families. We fight for the fighters such as women who are battling breast cancer or adults living with a chronic illness. We fight for seniors who rely on volunteers for a daily meal or an adult day health center to keep them safe while a caregiver works. We fight for families who need mental health services to heal themselves or their families. And that is just the start.

Together, we fight for a stronger, healthier, more stable community - and we provide help and hope along the way.

How does your gift to United Way of Williamson County impact Georgetown ISD students?

  • Dolly Parton's Imagination Library Program is preparing future students of Carver, Mitchell and Annie Purl Elementary Schools by providing one free book a month to preschoolers living in these attendance zones. An investment of $25 per year enrolls one child in this program who will receive 12 age-appropriate books. An investment of $125 provides 60 books for a child from the time he or she is born until their 5th birthday. This program works to make sure all children are prepared to enter kindergarten ready to read and learn - especially for those children from homes where there may not be extra money for books.

  • Born Learning Trails provide preschool-aged children with educational activities that help to prepare them for school. Located at Berry Springs Park, this trail includes 10 fun activities that empower Georgetown children with the skills they need to start their academic career.

  • Community Impact Grants to programs that are specifically serving students in Georgetown ISD: specifically, The Boys and Girls Club of Georgetown, Girls Empowerment Network, The Caring Place, Breast Cancer Resource Center, Hope Alliance and others provide important social services to students' families and Georgetown ISD employees.
