August 8, 2012 - United Way of Williamson County (UWWC) recently recognized Dell as Volunteer Partner of the Year at an award presentation at Dell’s Round Rock campus.
This annual award is given to a UWWC campaign partner that has shown the greatest commitment to volunteering in Williamson County. The selection considers local businesses that show an exceptional commitment to employee participation in United Way sponsored events and initiatives, as well as engagement with local agencies that support education, financial stability, health and basic needs in Williamson County.
“Last year, almost 25% of the participants in United Way’s Day of Caring and Day of Service events were Dell employees,” said Hugh Brown, CEO of St. David’s Georgetown Hospital and UWWC Vice-Chair, when presenting the award to a group of Dell employees.
Brown went on to personally thank the employees for their involvement in the community by stating, “Dell employees are a substantial source of volunteers not only for United Way, but the 18 local nonprofit agencies funded by United Way of Williamson County and all the nonprofits throughout the community. With Dell’s ongoing commitment to volunteering in the community, the selection committee had an easy decision this year.”
