Volunteer Information

VITA Volunteers are front and center of the fight for the financial stability of every person in every Williamson County community.

As a member of the VITA team, you will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with individuals and families who are looking for help completing their tax return. Whether it is a single parent looking for help, an older couple who will benefit from your knowledge, or a student who has questions about education credits or deductions, you have the opportunity to offer help and hope.

Each year, volunteers help thousands of Williamson County residents prepare and file their taxes free of charge. For wage-earners making $54,000 or less and seniors, free tax preparation sites help low-to-moderate income families access the help they need to file their tax federal tax return.

Since the start of this program, VITA volunteers have completed 6,567 tax returns, processed $10.4 million in refunds, $3.5 million in Earned Income Credits, and saved wage-earners an estimated $2.3 million in commercial preparation fees.
